I’ve been in Dublin for a little over a week now, and I have really enjoyed my time so far. I’ve made a few friends and been to some pubs. We’ve visited a few different restaurants and toured a few sights. My internship also started this week, so I’ve been quite busy.
My first day at my internship was very good. Everyone was so welcoming and nice. I could tell immediately that the culture here was very much a fun environment that cares about the employees on a personal level. After introducing Faith and I to the team, our boss Andy assigned us each to our own clients. I was given Paddy Irish Whiskey, Bluebird Care, FitFlop, and Bewley’s. I started researching these clients by checking out each of their Instagram’s, Facebook’s, and website’s. I looked into the customer demographics, competition, and more. Next week, I’ll have meetings with the account managers to go over my findings. We were also assigned topics for blogs that we’ll be writing. Mine is “Why your brand should be on TikTok.” Additionally, Faith and I will be completing some personal development training projects like Facebook Blueprint and Canva courses on the days we work from home. This will help us better prepare for the tasks we’ve been assigned.
Our bosses walked with us to a takeout place for lunch called Zambrero, which is similar to Chipotle (but better in my opinion!). Our boss paid for us, which was so nice, and the food was so good! We all sat together at lunch and talked about trips we wanted to take and festivals we wanted to attend. I mentioned that we wanted to go to Taste of Dublin, and our boss said she could get us free tickets since one of their clients, Granby, would be there. Faith and I are both super excited to get to go to this food festival, especially for free!
Outside of my internship, this week has been pretty laid back so far. A few of us went to John’s Bar on Wednesday to watch the Ireland vs Ukraine football game. My pictures this week are from us at the bar watching the game (see images below 😊). Friday, we’re going to Howth Cliff to hike and eat at a chipper. Then on Saturday, we’re either going to the Whiskey Live festival or going to Cork for the day.
Either way, I know this weekend will be busy, which is why I’m doing my journal on Thursday. Once again, I’m excited to continue this journey. I’m especially excited to continue my internship and see what new skills I acquire throughout my time here.
